Biography

Matteo Lombardi was born in Manerbio (BS) on 5 December 2000.
He is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Pavia within the Rem@ke research project. In 2023, he completed his first-level Bachelor’s degree in Musicology with highest honors at the University of Pavia – Cremona campus, presenting a thesis entitled “La bottega sul lago. Gli organari Cadei di Paratico” (supervisor: Prof. Massimiliano Guido; co-supervisor: Marco Fratti).

In 2025, he obtained his second-level Master’s degree in Musicology, again with highest honors, at the University of Pavia – Cremona campus. His thesis, “‘Con l’obbligo di cantare, e fare la musica’. Musical Activity at the Collegiate Church of San Siro in Soresina in the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Centuries,” was supervised by Prof. Rodobaldo Tibaldi, with co-supervision by Prof. Simona Negruzzo and Prof. Antonio Delfino.

In 2022, he attended the archival studies course “Gli orizzonti della ricerca storica. L’archivio tra storiografia e fonti documentarie” organized by the Diocesan Historical Archives of Brescia.
In 2023, he participated as a speaker at the International Student Conference in Musicology “Musicology in Progress.”

Since 2022, he has been a member of the historical–organological subcommittee of AODC (Associazione Organistica del Canavese).
