Biography
Dmytro Nykonenko is a researcher specialising in advanced digital documentation and non-invasive analytical methods applied to cultural heritage. His expertise includes 3D modelling, photogrammetry, scientific imaging, and archaeometry, with a focus on the study and documentation of complex historical artefacts. He holds a PhD in Museology and Investigation of Cultural Heritage and has worked in interdisciplinary research environments across museums, universities, and research institutes in Europe and beyond. From 2008 to 2024, he worked as a senior researcher, carrying out long-term research and digital documentation of heritage collections, with particular attention to imaging-based and photogrammetric workflows. More recently, he has collaborated with academic and research institutions such as the University of Turin, the German Archaeological Institute, and the Free University of Berlin, contributing to international projects focused on high-resolution 3D documentation, archaeometric analysis, and the publication of curated digital datasets in open-access research repositories. Since 2020, he has served as the Head of the Research Laboratory Archaic, a research-oriented NGO specializing in the digital documentation and scientific study of cultural heritage.
