Biography

Eleanor Smith-Guido is a musicologist, organologist, and occasional soprano with nearly 20 years’ experience working with musical instrument museums and with historical keyboard instruments.  Eleanor completed her doctorate on the claviorgan in 2013, raising these  instruments from obscure unicorns to an instrument which was valued across Europe for several centuries. Most recently, she has been working with archives relating to historical Swedish organs and organ building. She teaches a masters-level course the history of the construction of keyboard instruments to conservation students in Cremona, Italy. Since 2025, she has been appointed joint editor of The Organ Yearbook alongside Massimiliano Guido.
